The St. Albert of Jerusalem community strives to exemplify the Gospel message through word, and especially through deed. Our staff consistently work toward infusing the teachings of Christ within our curriculum and throughout the expectations we hold for conduct within the school and throughout the school yard. During this school year, literacy and numeracy will continue to be our main curriculum focus throughout all grades. Emphasis is placed on providing a balanced program that involves our students in a variety of reading, writing, listening and oral communication experiences across the curriculum. Staff is continuously involved in professional development opportunities which enhance their knowledge as they strive to use exemplary teaching practices to facilitate meeting the Ontario curriculum expectations with their students. Collaboratively, the staff works to refine and develop instructional intelligence. Focus over the past four years has been on providing students with learning tools that optimise their communication and reading comprehension skills. Provincial and diagnostic assessments inform our practice while formative and summative assessments inform our instructional content.
