VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL AND SIGN-IN PROCEDURES

For safety reasons, all visitors to our school must report to the office and sign-in. The sign-in book is located in the office. Please do not enter the school yard or your child’s classroom. Remember, to your child you are the parent…to the other students you are the stranger.

Students must sign in or out when

• They are late arriving to school in the morning or afternoon

• They have a note from parent/guardian asking the school to dismiss them early for appointments...

Students will not be dismissed directly from the classroom by teachers or picked up at the classroom by parents/guardians, et cetera… All must come to the office and sign in or out.

SAFETY AT SCHOOL

For the safety of our students, only staff are permitted on the school yard. All parents are reminded that when they come to the school they MUST check in at the office. All supply teachers, volunteers and visitors are identified by fluorescent St. Alfred stickers. Students and staff are trained to report any adult who is not identified by a St. Alfred sticker to the office. Please assist us in keeping all of our children safe!

Also, please understand that during instructional time, teachers are unavailable to meet with parents or to take phone calls. Please leave a message with the school secretary and your call will be returned promptly.

ENTRY TO THE SCHOOL BUILDING

All exterior school doors remain locked throughout the day. Individuals who need to enter our school building must do so by ringing the doorbell to the left of our front doors and gaining admission once approved by a staff member in the office. We ask for your patience and understanding if there is a wait at the front doors. Occasionally, the office staff is away from their desk. Upon entry to the school building, please report immediately to the main office. Only approved visitors will be granted permission to access other areas of the school. Thank you for assisting us in providing a safe environment for our staff and students.
