Earth Rangers Fundraiser: $546.00 raised
Battery recycling contest: Starting March 10th all classrooms will be collecting batteries to see who can bring in the most for a pizza lunch. Please send all used batteries in to St. Andrew as they are picked up by RMC to be recycled.
You can now recycle your batteries at St. Andrew. Drop them off in the main office. Brochure

For years, we have been recycling our toner cartridges from our photocopiers and printers. Our paper products such as toilet paper and paper towels are made from 100% recycled paper, which is supplied by EcoSoft. We also reuse all large envelopes that are used by our internal mailing system to our board office or to other schools along with reusing spoiled photocopy paper in our fax machine and cut it up as note paper in the office. One last way we are saving on paper products is by sending our monthly newsletters electronically via email to most parents. We have 282 families, and only print out 88 copies of the school newsletter monthly.
We have had the blue bin program at St. Andrew for the past three years. In December, 2010 we started the green bin program with the help of the County of Dufferin's Recycling Department. In February, 2012 we became a depot for dropping off batteries as part of the County of Dufferin's Battery Recycling Program.

These are just some ways in which we here at St. Andrew Catholic School are trying to be a little more eco-friendly each day.

St. Andrew Catholic School has completed and submitted our application to be certified as an Ontario Eco School. Please click on the above link for more information on the levels of certification.
