Integrated Technologies (OPEN) | TTI 101
      This course enables students to understand the technological and computer concepts they need in order to design, develop, and build usable products and/or deliver services, and to pursue further technological studies. Students will use the technological design process and a variety of tools and software to solve problems, complete projects, and strengthen their communication kills in four different labs, through a rotation process.

Grade 10
     Grade 10 courses are introductory courses open to all other students. Students may choose Grade 10 courses without Grade 9 as a prerequisite. The first course in a subject in years two through four should be at the Grade 10 level.

Grade 10, Communications/Graphics | TGJ20G
     Students will enjoy learning the power of communicating messages through various media. This course offers theory and a hands-on practical approach using desktop publishing, layout, paste-up, plate making, photography and printing presses to get the messages out. Students will have fun working on projects.

Grade 10, Communications/Photography (1 credit) | TGJ20P
     Students have fun learning in this exciting introductory course about the world of commercial communications. This hands on project driven course is an introduction to photography. Have fun while learning about the world of visual media.

Grade 10, Constructions/Architectural Drafting | TCJ201
     What is the single most expensive purchase you will ever make? If you answered a home, then Construction Technology is for you. The design and construction of residential units is one area this course covers. Commercial and recreational structures are also examined. Students learn skills in measuring, layout, construction, assembly and finishing. Other topics can include carpentry, electrical wiring, plumbing, drywall, painting, cabinet making and more.

Grade 10, Health and Personal Services Technology | TPJ201
     Are you interested in hair, nails, skin care, or fashion? In a salon environment students will learn a variety of salon services through practical and theoretical applications. Emphasis will be placed on career opportunities.

Grade 10, Hospitality & Tourism | TFJ2O1
     Students are introduced to the many occupational opportunities. Associated with the hospitality, travel, accommodation and tourism industries. In addition, students will enjoy developing culinary talents for the joy of cooking or possibly seeking a career in the food industry. Safety, sanitation, hygiene and nutrition are learned through good working practices.

Grade 10, Manufacturing/Woodworking | TMJ20W
     Learn the manufacturing processes used in industrial woodworking. Use mass production techniques to make attractive and useful items for the home. A rewarding and enjoyable course.

Grade 10, Manufacturing Electronics | TMJ2OE
     Learn to design, construct and repair devices that contain electrical and electronic circuits. Develop practical skills using meters, hand tools and shop tools. Students will have safe learning experiences in AC and DC. This course will be informative and fun.

Grade 11, Communications/Graphics | TGJ3MG
     Students will develop their abilities in communicating messages through various media. Offered in the Graphics Lab, this course offers theory and a hands-on practical approach using desktop publishing, scanning, layout, plate making, photography, and printing presses to get the message out.

Grade 11, Communications/Photography (1 credit) | TGJ3MP
     Intermediate students have fun advancing their photography, video, computer and software skills. Exciting projects include camera design and manufacturing, portraiture, film and medic analysis. Exciting career opportunities are explored with field trips.

Grade 11, Communications/Electronics | TGJ3ME
     Radio, T.V., desktop presentations and video are examples of Electronic Communications. Students will study this growing field through the creation of projects using the electronic media.

Grade 11, Construction/Part 1 | TCJ3M1
     This is the first Construction course at the grade 11 level. Learn about the exciting and diverse world of construction technology. Explore the numerous careers related to the building industry. Topics include residential, commercial and recreational structures.

Grade 11, Construction/Architectural Drafting | TCJ3MD
     Senior students will enjoy learning and drawing house plans to understand residential design and construction. Computer aided design will enhance the student’s ability to try different design features to be incorporated into their work project. It is recommended that students take Grade 10.

Grade 11, Hair Styling and Aesthetics | TPE3C1
     Are you interested in hair, nails, skin care, or fashion? In a salon environment students will learn a variety of salon services through practical and theoretical applications at an advanced level. Emphasis will be placed on career opportunities.

Grade 11, Hospitality (Food Services) (2 credits) | TFT3C2
     Students continue to explore the many occupational opportunities associated with the hospitality, travel, accommodation and tourism industries. Students will study the Hospitality Industry by preparing menus, recipes and meals for the school cafeteria. Learning new food preparation skills will be rewarding and enjoyable. Students will gain marketable skills for catering, restaurant management, and chef training and menu preparation. Safety, sanitation, hygiene and nutrition form the basics for all learning strategies. (Period 1 & 2 on Timetable)

Grade 11, Hospitality And Tourism | TFH3E1
     This course focuses on the hospitality, travel and tourism industry. Throughout the course the students learn the fundamentals of providing high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction. They also explore the components of the tourism industry including airlines and transportation, conference planning, hotel accommodations and hospitality management. Students will also be introduced to food preparation, including how to best prepare, present and serve food for a commercial food establishment. The students will also identify possible career paths.

Grade 11, Manufacturing/Woodworking | TMJ3CW
     Use mass-production techniques from Industrial Woodworking to produce useful items for home and business. Cabinetmaking and furniture building skills will help you to produce wooden items such as speaker enclosures, desks, and CD storage racks.

Grade 11, Manufacturing/Mechanical Drafting | TMJ3CD
     Develop your skills in the Language of Industry by producing mechanical drawings and on Computer-Assisted Drafting work-stations. These are valuable pursuing Engineering and Applied Science courses in post-secondary.

Grade 11, Manufacturing/Electronic Fabrication | TMJ3CE
     Aquinas sits in a business park, surrounded by various manufacturing plants. Learn the process of manufacturing goods for consumer needs. Build projects with electronic controls and circuits. This enjoyable hands-on course also allows you to develop solutions to common electrical and electronic problems.

Grade 11, Design/Mechanical Drafting | TDJ3M1
     Students will learn how to produce and read technical drawings. This skill is essential for all future engineers. Students will be introduced to computer aided drafting, which is now demanded by the profession, to express technical ideas used in all branches of Technical Industry. It is recommended that students take Grade 10.

Grade 11, Transportation | TTJ3C1
     This first course at this level examines the huge field of transportation technology. Topics in mass transit, personal and recreational vehicles as well as land, sea and air cargo will expose students to the diversity of careers in transportation.

Grade 11, Transportation (2 credits) | TTJ3C2
     In their second course at the Grade 11 level, senior students will enjoy learning and developing special skills to understand how engines and motors function. This hands-on practical program will have students performing maintenance and repairs in the lab. Safe use of tools and equipment will develop responsible attitudes necessary to perform important work on engines, transmissions, brakes and drive-lines.

     Senior students will enjoy an in-depth, hands on, practical approach to the Printing Industry. Aspects include advanced desktop-publishing and multi-colour printing. Safe working practices and a responsible approach will allow students to produce excellent work. This course will direct the student to college and professional opportunities.

     Senior students enjoy this exciting photography, media, and communications course gaining practical and professional experience in both colour and black and white. Career opportunities in the dynamic field of video, film and digital photography direct the student to college and professional opportunities.

Grade 12, Communications/Electronic | TGJ4ME
     Continue to explore the field of radio, T.V. desktop presentations and video communications. Students will create projects in these electronic formats through the creation of video and audio productions.

Grade 12, Construction | TCJ4C1
     This is the initial Grade 12 course for senior students and serious woodworkers who enjoy learning new skills and techniques for residential and commercial construction. Students will design and construct group projects. Personal projects are also possible activities. Areas of study also include R2000 construction methods, framing and sheathing, exterior/interior finish and stair construction. Other trade areas can be explored based on student interests.

Grade 12, Hair Styling and Aesthetics | TPE4C1
     This is a continuum in cosmetology. Students will explore salon services using advanced techniques. Emphasis will be placed on actual client services within the community. Possible career opportunities.

Grade 12, Hair Styling and Aesthetics (2 Credits) | TPE4C2
     This course is open to all students who have at least one cosmetology credit. Students will work independently in order to develop the necessary skills to become a successful professional. A variety of areas will be explored including updated fashion trends, theatrical make-up, field trips, and aromatherapy. Licensing hours is a possibility.

Grade 12, Hospitality and Tourism | TFS4C1
     Commercial food preparation is intended to provide students with practical experience in the industrial kitchen. Aspects of safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, equipment, basic food items, cooking methods, recipes, and nutrition are studied. Students are also introduced to the many occupational opportunities associated with the hospitality, travel, accommodation and tourism industries.

Grade 12, Hospitality and Tourism (2 Credits)| TFS4C2
     This course focuses on the eight sectors of the hospitality and tourism industry – accommodation, adventure tourism, recreation, food and beverage, transportation, travel trade, event and conference planning attractions and tourism services. Students will also focus on advanced food preparation and presentation skills including the study of nutritional value of foods, planning menus, recipes and management techniques. Students will also identify possible career paths. (Period 1 & 2 on Timetable)

Grade 12, Manufacturing/Electronic Fabrication | TMJ4CE
     Senior students and serious electronics/electrical students will enjoy safe new opportunities to study design and manufacture electrical apparatus from many aspects of the electronics field. Students will explore AC, theory is recommended:

Grade 12, Manufacturing/Woodworking | TMJ4CW
     Students will learn to expand their ability to produce wooden products for a consumer market. From project design and material selection to packaging and shipment the students will simulate the real-world manufacturing process.

Grade 12, Manufacturing/Mechanical Drafting | TMJ4CD
     Students will use sophisticated design and manufacturing systems to design and fabricate tooling, to program CNC equipment, and to design and build solutions to technological challenges in manufacturing. Students will also solve problems, make the decisions necessary to develop a product for manufacture, and examine production methods, quality control l systems, and environmental and societal impacts.

Grade 12, Design/Mechanical Drafting | TDJ4M1
     Senior students with drafting skills will be challenged to design solutions to practical problems with aid of technical drawings. Students will also use computer aided drafting in production of drawings, It is recommended that the student has completed Grade 11.
Prerequisite: TDJ3M1.
