Girls Night In at Ascension

On Friday, October 3rd, staff and students hosted our inaugural Girls Night In at Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School for female students enrolled in grade 9. Over 100 grade 9 students, peer leaders, teachers and guests joined us for the evening. Most of us slept over at the school until Saturday morning.

Activities included a fabulous catered meal, prepared by Mrs. Cardinale and her team of students enrolled in the Hospitality Specialist High-Skills Major Program. There were also manicures for everyone co-ordinated by Ms. Paskos. Ms. Magistrale, Ms. Paguandas and Ms. Inguanez led fitness activities. Ms. Feres, Ms. Vieira and Ms. Grande provided instruction in Nutrition. Ms. Pelland demonstrated how to resolve conflict. Ms. Polera had the girls get "crafty", while Ms. Ropp led the choir and Ms. Santos arranged for sessions on yoga and healthy relationship advice.
