Members of student council will be outside by the fire from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 8th. They will be standing out in the cold to raise awareness about the many homeless adults/youth who live on the streets throughout our cold winter months. Our hope is that students/teachers will come out to donate "gently used" clothing (ie. Jackets, hats, scarves, sweaters...) that will then be donated to local shelters in Malton/Mississauga.
When students/staff make a clothing donation, they will be given FREE food tickets that entitle them to receive a hot dog and smores. The Outdoor Cub (lead by Mr. Cook and Mr. Sra) will also be helping out with this event. They will be in charge of the fire and they will be selling hot chocolate.
We invite all students/staff to come out to this event. You can hang out with us and sing Christmas carols as long as you want...or as long as you can withstand the cold. This is also a great opportunity to clean out your closet and spread a little Holiday cheer to those who need it most.
