Parenting and Family Literacy Centre

St. Teresa of Avila School is proud to have The Parenting and Family Literacy Centre in our school.  Ms. S. Markowski, the parent worker, will begin to welcome families on Tuesday, September 7th, 2010.

This program welcomes parents and caregivers with young children from birth to age six to engage in learning and playing together.  The program is FREE and will be open from Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in Room 104. The goal of the program is to help young children make an easier transition in to kindergarten, to foster their early literacy and numeracy skills as well as to support parents and caregivers.  Further, the program enables them to be successful in their parenting role.

We look forward to this exciting new program opening in our school.
