St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Elementary School
PEACE, LOVE, SERVICE, EXCELLENCE
OF ST. BERNARD
“Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, and sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother, to thee I come,
before thee I stand sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word
Incarnate! Despise not my petitions, but, in thy mercy,
hear and answer me. Amen.”
This prayer was composed after the writings of St. Bernard, the first to give Mary her title of Notre Dame.
We the students of St. Bernard of Clairvaux School
agree to join together to make our
school a Caring, Safe and Inclusive
environment for all students.
We welcome the Uniqueness of all students.
We will have the Compassion to not bully
And the Courage to not be a bystander.
We will stand up for what we know is right.
We will use our words and actions to spread
Kindness and Love in our community.
We believe that every person should feel
Safe, Secure and Accepted.
WE ALL BELONG TO GOD'S FAMILY
Virtue of the Month
You must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge,, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. For if these things are yours and are increasing among you, they keep you from being unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:5-8
God wants us to do what we know and feel is right
A person with self-control.....
is patient with themselves and others
knows how to share and take turns
has the power to stand up for what is right
looks for peaceful ways to solve conflict
can think things through
Our Daily Prayer for January
Let us now pray......for the virtue of self-control so that we will resist the temptation to cause harm to ourselves and others around us....AMEN
May the wonder of that first Christmas,
the joy of God's abundant blessings,
and the peace of Jesus' presence
be with you always
Happy New Year
