St. Bernard of Clairvaux Important Updates

Welcome/Bienvenue to

St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Elementary School

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, and sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother, to thee I come,
before thee I stand sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word
Incarnate! Despise not my petitions, but, in thy mercy,
hear and answer me.  Amen.”

This prayer was composed after the writings of St. Bernard, the first to give Mary her title of Notre Dame.

Virtue of the Month

God wants us to care about everyone's feelings

Prayer for October: Let us now pray...for the grace and strength to be people of empathy-

people who can identify with and feel the concerns of those around us.  Amen

An empathic person...

  • listens when people speak
  • notices when someone is upset and tries to help
  • can understand and name his/her feelings
  • can see a situation from another person's point of view
  • accepts that others may feel differently about things than they do
