St. Bernard of Clairvaux Important Updates

Welcome/Bienvenue to

St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Elementary School

PEACE, LOVE, SERVICE, EXCELLENCE

THE MEMORARE OF ST. BERNARD

“Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, and sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother, to thee I come,
before thee I stand sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word
Incarnate! Despise not my petitions, but, in thy mercy,
hear and answer me.  Amen.”

 Acceptance Pledge

We the students of St. Bernard of Clairvaux School
agree to join together to make our
school a Caring, Safe and
Inclusive
environment for all students.
We welcome the Uniqueness of all students.
We will have the Compassion to not bully
And the Courage to not be a bystander.
We will stand up for what we know is right.
We will use our words and actions to spread
Kindness and Love in our community.
We believe that every person should feel
Safe, Secure and Accepted.

WE ALL BELONG TO GOD'S FAMILY

2016 -2017 School Re-Opening & Office Hours

Our school office will be open the week of

August 29th to September 2nd

from 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

First day of School is Tuesday September 6th

                                               OPENING DAY PROCEDURES

Please review the following opening day procedures noted below with your child.

Due to privacy of information, we cannot post class lists in open access areas.

For Junior Kindergarten children, parents will be informed as to the entry program procedure for our Full Day Early Learning Program.

All students entering Senior Kindergarten will assemble in the Kindergarten Area where they will be greeted by their teachers. Parents please say your goodbyes at the gate as bringing your child into the school only makes the transition from parent to teacher all the more difficult for those children who are somewhat nervous on the first day. Your children are in good caring hands and will adjust much better if you follow this procedure.

Grade 1, 2 and 3 students are to meet on the tarmac on the west side of our school building. They will be met by their teachers and brought into the school. There will be signs posted for each grade to assist in the organization of our students. There will also be several teachers in the area with class lists to assist students.

Grades 4 to 8 students are to meet on the tarmac at the rear of the school, near the basketball nets, where they will be met by their teachers and brought into the school. Signs will be posted for each grade here as well.  There will also be several teachers in the area with class lists to assist students and parents.

In the event that it rains, we will ring the bell at 8:30 and students will be permitted to enter the school.   The Primary students in grades 1 and 2 will be brought into the Library where they will be organized into their classes. The students in grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be brought into the gymnasium where they will be organized into their classes.  The students in grades 7, and 8 will be brought upstairs where they will be organized into their classes.

Portables: Please note that again this year we will have two portables at our school. After a great deal of discussion it has been decided that one of our Grade 5 classes, and our Grade 4/5 class will remain in these portables. The intermediate students were not considered as they are involved with rotary throughout the day and for obvious reasons we felt that this would be less appropriate for our younger students.
