LEAD ADVISOR ADDITIONAL
ADVISOR(S)
START - END MEETING DAY AND TIME MEETING PLACE
Mr. Biondich Mr. Abbruscato September - June Meet as needed Control Room

The A/V Club is Campion’s “audio/video” crew who are trained to set-up and operate the school’s audio and video equipment for use during special events such as school assemblies, theatre productions, award nights, fundraising events, special presentations, and masses, etc.

The A/V Club operates the school’s sound equipment located in the cafeteria, theatre, and gymnasium. Students operate a variety of equipment such as:

  • Dynamic and condenser microphones
  • Multi-channel audio mixers
  • CD players, cassette decks, etc.
  • A belt-pack & headset intercom system
  • Various cables and hook-ups including DI boxes

The club also owns a mobile sound system for events held at locations outside the school such as grad ceremonies and track meets, etc. The club can also DJ events if necessary.

The club also sets-up and operates video projectors for multimedia presentations involving PowerPoint software and other video presentations. The club has a large portable projection screen that can be set-up wherever needed.

Currently the club is also overseeing the use of the school’s professional lighting system for theatre presentations and other events.

Technical training sessions are also held for new students, but most of the training is done “on the job”, involving practical hands-on experience.

Further objectives of the club are to:

  • Maintain an inventory of equipment (in the control room)
  • Safeguard equipment from damage, loss, or theft

And ultimately,

  • Make life a little easier for everybody at Campion by ensuring that all A/V equipment runs smoothly during special events!

If you are interested in joining the A/V Club, contact Mr. Biondich in the Religion Department. Students can join at any time.
