Introductory Activities

1) View the Top 10 Movies of 2008

2) On your own, rank the movies from 1 - 10 (1 being the movie you liked best, 10 being the movie you liked least)

3) Pair up with another student. Record eachother's rankings.

4) Make a scatterplot. Each movie will be represented by one point. Your ranking of the movie will be the x value and your partner's rating will be the y value. For example, if you ranked "The Dark Knight" as 1, but your partner ranked it as 5, the point you would plot would be DK(1,5).

5) Draw a line of best fit, then analyze the data. Are the points close together or far apart? What does this tell you about the other person?

Unit 3: Two-Variable Statistics

1) Complete the Linear and Non-Linear Regression activity, to learn how to perform Two-Variable Statistics in Excel.

2) Complete the Assignment: A Marked Improvement

(The assignment will be your Application mark for the Unit 3 Test!)
