YFC SEND FOOD AND CLOTHES TO PHILIPPINE FLOOD VICTIMS

Youth For Christ team at St. Edmund Campion responded to the needs of Philippine flood victims by collecting food and clothing donations for a two week period in October. Many Campion community members took up the challenge to exercise the virtue of empathy for such victims with generous donations received. These donations were forwarded to key contacts in the Philippino community who sent everything directly to flood victims. The Youth for Christ team at St. Edmund Campion has demonstrated what it truly means to walk in the way of Jesus Christ.

MR. CORDEIRO WINS PREMIER'S AWARD
FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE

Mr. Cordeiro

Congratulations to Mr. Cordeiro, recipient of the 2008-2009 Premier's Award for Teaching Excellence.

In his first year of teaching, Manuel Cordeiro is already making a lasting impression on students and the school community. His Comic Book Club has engaged struggling students in reading and boosted their literacy skills. His reproduction of the allied war room during D-Day operations and diplomacy simulation games brought history to life. A gifted motivator and leader, he also organized a campaign with students to send holiday care packages to Canadian soldiers and support workers in Afghanistan.
