UNIFORM UPDATE
As of September 2009 there will be a change to the Mount Carmel uniform. The Kilt will no longer be available for purchase from our uniform supplier and is not part of the uniform for grade 9 or new students. Students who currently own a Kilt will be able to continue to wear them at a modest length. Students who choose to wear it at a length that is not considered modest, will lose the privilege of wearing it. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
TRAFFIC FLOW CHANGE
In September of 2009, there will be a revision to the pick up and drop off at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The current traffic situation at the beginning and end of the school day is causing a hazard to our students and staff. As of the first day of school in September, the entrance will be moved to the north driveway at the top of the school. Traffic will then flow straight behind the building and the designated drop off point will be on the paved area on the south corner of the school. This area is past the gym and beside the football field. Traffic will then continue to flow straight out the driveway to Trelawny Circle. (Please refer to the diagram). Students are not to be dropped off or picked up anywhere else on school property. The front driveway of the school will be gated to prevent any flow through traffic. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated and is necessary to ensure the safety of our school community.
