The purpose of this document is to provide a Guideline for the Consultants in the preparation of the Contract Documents. The Guideline organizes the facilities into groupings and identifies for all stakeholders, the current standards, and expectations of the Board.
This Guideline is not to be considered as a prefabricated, single standard that enshrines a model, precluding flexibility. Rather, it establishes a basis for negotiated balance between the best value of design and construction, and the program needs as identified in each unique situation.
As program requirements and design parameters change, the original Guideline requires periodic updating and adjustments. Amendments through Addenda to the Guideline are prepared by the Design Department for the approval by the Board. The 2006 version of the Guideline includes all of the 21 Addenda approved by the Board. The last Addendum, No.EA.1, has been identified in coloured font.
