The Human Resources Department is a dynamic unit comprised of the Teacher Personnel Department, the Support Services Personnel Department, the Payroll and Benefits Department and the Corporate Services Training Department.
The men and women of Human Resources are involved in the hiring, documentation, pay and benefits administration, leave of absences processes and training for 7,000 permanent employees of the Board. In addition, the wage and salary administration for over 4,000 additional casual, hourly and summer staff is processed through Human Resources.
In Human Resources we are involved in the negotiation and administration of all collective agreements, including the posting of all internal positions and the external advertising and recruitment. We obtain Criminal Background Checks and Annual Offense Declaration for all staff. We also administer the Performance Appraisal systems for all staff.
