Corporate Services & Training
Corporate Services Training & Special Projects provides computer skills training, various workshops, professional development, and service recognition for employees. Conference funding for Teachers and APSSP panels along with support staff training is processed and approved through this department. An "Orientation Site" will rollout in 2006 to provide a venue for all new employees to learn about the board while encouraging integration into the Dufferin-Peel environment.
- Training Sessions include all courses that are part of the Microsoft Software package, ROSS, Trillium, TRACS, Basic Accounting along with other training sessions as needed.
- The coordination of other workshops or functions includes the Teacher Pension Plan, OMERS, Teacher in Charge, and a Commissioning for New Administrators and Managers.
- Conference Funding procedures and forms are available through this department.
- A Secretarial Professional Development Day is held each year.
- The Teacher Handbook and the Educational Resource Workers’ Guide are updated yearly.
- The New Teacher Inservice is held for all new hires from the Secondary and Elementary panels.
- Appreciation Night is held yearly for employees with 25, 30, 35, years of service, and retirees. Service Awards including certificates, Service Pins, and gifts are distributed to employees with 5, 10, 15, and 20 years of continuous service with the Board.
