In February and March 2008, the Custodial & Office Services Department held its annual Advanced and Basic Custodial Courses.
The goal of the courses is to provide custodians with the knowledge and the skills that will provide our staff and students with a clean, safe and healthy environment in which to learn and work.
Staff from the Health And Safety Department were kind enough to volunteer their time to speak to the custodians regarding various Health & Safety procedures and policies.
The custodial supervisors provided training in the following areas:
Auto Scrubbers and Vacuums
Polishers
Outdoor Equipment (including, lawn mowers, tractors, snow blowers and trimmers)
Record Keeping , Board Policies and Procedures
Ergonomics
WHMIS & Work Safety
Fire Safety
