Peter has a great deal of experience having served on the Dufferin-Peel School Board as Trustee and Chairman up until December 2006. He currently sits on the following standing committees of the Board: Administration and Finance, Board By-Laws/Policies Review, Contract Negotiations and Faith and Program. He also sits on the Special Education Advisory Committee, and the Mississauga Board of Trade and Mississauga Public Library Board.
Peter is also Past Chairman of the Mississauga Library Services, Director Ontario Mental Health Foundation, President of the First Portuguese Canadian Cultural Centre, National President of the Portuguese Canadian National Congress, Director of Mississauga Crime Prevention Association,President of the Canadian Ethnocultural Council and currently is a Member of the Toronto Police Service Chief's Advisory Council, Canadian Blood Service (NLC).
Peter has over thirty years of professional experience in immigration law. This encompasses offering specialized consulting and paralegal services in immigration matters. His experience comes from the private and public sector. Since 1986 Peter has been a self-employed paralegal/consultant with Ferreira and Koach Immigration Services.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from York University. He has received numerous awards and recognitions including the Governor General of Canada Commemorative Medal and the City of Mississauga Civic Award.
