Particulars:

Secondary and intermediate (7&8) educators are invited to attend a two-day session exploring

differentiated instruction in various subjects (see the tabulation below). The two-day session is intended to support educators who are new to DI as well as those who are refining their DI approach.

Administrators are welcome to attend any of the two-day sessions, or a one-day session that will support their role as curriculum leaders.

Once again the Ministry of Education has made available funding for secondary educators to increase our instructional knowledge and skills to meet the diverse needs of all students. The two-day session will expand our awareness of DI as a framework for planning and implementing effective instruction and assessment based on essential understandings as outlined in the Ontario curriculum. The two-day session will also grant us the opportunity to deliberately address the Board’s system-wide goals for 2010/2011, and the “School Effectiveness Framework [SEF].” If you bring a laptop, you will be able to create subject specific ready-to-use electronic products. Refreshments, a light breakfast and lunch, will be provided each day. The Ontario Ministry of Education is directly funding this initiative and will issue a certificate to each participant upon completion. Attendance on both days, except for the session for administrators, is mandatory. Day two will conclude with each participant responding to a Survey Monkey.
