Dufferin-Peel Catholic schools will host many engaging events and activities to celebrate Black History Month, including a large-scale Black History Conference for secondary school students called, “Ubuntu – I am what I am because of who we all are.”

Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board congratulates Archbishop Collins’ on his elevation to College of Cardinals
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board congratulates Archbishop Thomas Collins on the announcement today of his elevation to the College of Cardinals. The formal consistory, at which the new cardinals will be created, will take place February 18-19 in Rome. Cardinal-designate Collins will become the fourth cardinal in the 110-year history of the Archdiocese of Toronto and the 16th cardinal in the history of the Roman Catholic Church in Canada.

Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board elects Mario Pascucci chair
At the annual organizational meeting held Tuesday, December 6, trustees elected Mississauga Wards 1 & 3 trustee, Mario Pascucci as chair of the 11-member Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. During his 28 years as a trustee, Mr. Pascucci has served in various leadership capacities, including one previous term as chair of the board, chair of Administration and Finance Committee, Audit, and Faith and Program Committees.

Dufferin-Peel announces dates for Kindergarten Registration
Junior, Senior and Full-Day Kindergarten registration for the 2012-13 school year, for children not already registered, will be held at all Dufferin-Peel Catholic elementary schools on February 6 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and February 8, 9, 10 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m.
