Dufferin-Peel announces John Hrajnik as new Associate Director, Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of John Hrajnik as its new Associate Director of Education, Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer. John, whose appointment is effective January 7, 2008, succeeds John Kostoff, who was recently named Director of Education at Dufferin-Peel.
John Hrajnik, a Mississauga resident, joins the board from the Toronto Catholic District School Board, where he was Deputy Director of Business Services, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer. Prior to that, John was Director of Budgeting & Financial Planning at the City of Vaughan.
“Coming from a like-sized Catholic school board with many similar challenges, John’s knowledge and experience of operating in an educational environment will serve us well in Dufferin-Peel,” said Bruno Iannicca, Chair. “Trustees are looking forward to working with John in the days ahead.”
“John understands school board operations and the importance of financial stability and sustainability relative to our students, parents/guardians and staff,” said John Kostoff, Director of Education. “He has a keen understanding of the issues that our board has recently faced and we are pleased that John will be joining our Executive Team and the Dufferin-Peel family.”
As Associate Director, John will be responsible for overseeing the non-instructional, corporate components of the board’s operation, including Financial Services, Planning & Operations, Human Resources, Employee Relations, and Information & Communications Technology (ICT).
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is one of the largest and most diverse school districts in Ontario, with approximately 88,000 students in 144 Catholic schools throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Orangeville. It is the goal of the board to provide quality education to students in a setting which fosters Catholic values and beliefs. For more information, visit the board’s website at www.dpcdsb.org.
