Highlights of the March 25, 2008 Board Meeting
Following are the highlights of the March 25/08 meeting of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.
► The Board received a delegation from St. Alfred School Council members who outlined concerns with the age and condition of the school. The delegation advocated for renovations to the school.
► The Board approved the implementation of a French Immersion pilot program at St. Margaret of Scotland School in Mississauga and St. Joachim School in Brampton, commencing in September 2008. Student transportation will not be provided to students enrolled in the French Immersion pilot.
► The board received, with regret, retirement notices from N. Godfrey, principal of Holy Family School, D. Richards, principal of Adult & Continuing Education, J. McAllister, principal of St. Marcellinus Secondary School and J. Galea, principal of Iona Catholic Secondary School.
► The Board re-appointed Trustees Tony da Silva and Esther O’Toole as Dufferin-Peel’s representatives on the Ontario Catholic School Trustee Association (OCSTA) Board of Directors. The term f the appointment is 2008-2010.
► The board approved the 2008-09 School Year Calendar. The calendar will be submitted to the Ministry of Education for approval.
