Educators and community members discuss diversity and equity issues at Challenge (In)Equity Conference
On April 19, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, in partnership with the Coalition on Diversity Education, will host the Challenge (In)Equity Conference. Over 150 educators and community members from across the province will participate in this one-day event, which will address diversity and equity issues related to marginalized youth.
The conference will consist of keynote addresses by Dr. Grace-Edward Galabuzi, author of Canada’s Economic Apartheid and secondary student, Connor Steele, who will discuss discrimination that exists for people with disabilities, 12 interactive workshop sessions and a roundtable discussion. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School in Brampton.
