Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and ERWs reach tentative agreement

MISSISSAUGA – On Thursday, October 23, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Educational Resource Workers’ Association (DPERWA) reached a tentative collective agreement pending ratification. Educational Resource Workers in the board are assigned, for the most part, to work with students with special needs, collaborating with and  supporting the efforts of classroom teachers in all elementary and secondary schools to which they are assigned.

The agreement is for a four-year contract in accordance with the Provincial Discussion Table framework as agreed to by the Ministry of Education and Catholic School Boards across the Province.

The board continues to negotiate with its other employee groups.

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is one of the largest school boards in Ontario, with approximately 87,000 students in 145 schools located throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Orangeville. With approximately 10,000 employees, the Board is also one of the largest employers in the region.
