Dufferin-Peel hosts fourth annual Joe Sax Activity Festival for students with special needs
On May 16, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board will host the fourth annual Joe Sax Activity Festival for students with special needs in the Mississauga South Family of Schools.
This event offers students with special needs an opportunity to participate in a variety of modified physical activities. The event is designed to contribute to the physical, social and psychological development of students with disabilities through positive and successful experiences in sport.
The event has been named in memory and tribute to Joe Sax, a former teacher at Iona Catholic Secondary School. Joe was a distance coach for the Mississauga Track Club, a member of the Toronto Olympic Club and the former Canadian record holder for the 3000m Steeplechase.
