Success By 6 Peel asks Everyone to Support Children’s Rights on November 20 National Child Day in Peel Region
November 20 is National Child Day in Peel and Success By 6 Peel is encouraging all sectors of society to put children’s rights first by adopting the Peel Children’s Charter of Rights. The Charter was created to give children a voice in their own matters and to raise awareness of the value of children in society.
As part of an official endorsement program to engage and involve the community, organizations that endorse the Charter are known as Charter Champions and are asked to take action to put the welfare of children first. Peel Regional Council adopted the Charter last May. Since then, the Peel District School Board, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and United Way of Peel Region have all come forward to endorse it and put it into action within their organizations.
The Region of Peel was the first Charter Champion and has proclaimed November 20 National Child Day in Peel Region.
