Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and secondary teachers ratify agreement on new four-year contract
MISSISSAUGA – The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) reached a tentative collective agreement on Monday, September 22nd. The agreement is for a four-year contract in accordance with the Provincial Discussion Table framework as agreed to by the Ministry of Education, OECTA and Catholic school boards across the province. Both parties have subsequently ratified the agreement.
The board continues to negotiate with its other employee groups.
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is one of the largest school boards in Ontario, with approximately 87,000 students in 145 schools located throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Orangeville. With approximately 10,000 employees, the board is also one of the largest employers in the region.
