St. Jerome student wins French language competition

Caroline Guo, Grade 6 student at St. Jerome Catholic Elementary School, recently won first place in the Tutor on Wheel’s first-ever, French spelling and vocabulary competition.

 

The final round of competition was held on December 2 at Century Gardens Recreation Centre in Brampton. Caroline triumphed over 12 finalists representing Grades 6-9 Core and Extended French students from York, Toronto and Peel regions.

 

Caroline won a cash prize and the French spelling and vocabulary competition trophy, which will be presented to her on Friday, at her Mississauga school. The trophy will remain at the school for a year.

 

There will be a short award ceremony and photo opportunity at St. Jerome School to recognize Caroline on Friday, December 9 at 10 a.m.

Tutor on Wheels is a registered non-profit charity, mandated to promote and nurture the educational needs of children and youth in the Greater Toronto Area, through literacy competitions and workshops.
