St. Lucy Catholic Elementary School to celebrate solemn blessing
BRAMPTON - On May 31, staff and students of St. Lucy Catholic Elementary School in Brampton will celebrate their solemn blessing. Father Maderak from St. Leonard Parish will preside over the ceremony.
St. Lucy Catholic Elementary School, located at 25 Kanata Road in Brampton, opened on September 5, 2006. Currently, there are 562 students enrolled in Grades JK-8.
A school blessing is a milestone event in the life of a new Catholic school, and typically takes place within one year of the opening of the school. Blessings are highly ceremonial occasions with a strong community focus, and are attended by students, parents, clergy, school staff, board officials, school trustees and other elected officials.
