“Although the music of Handel’s Messiah is often featured during Christmas, it was written as part of the Lenten experience and Easter celebrations,” says Michael Harrison.
The Easter season for Catholics runs for 50 days after Easter, until Pentecost Sunday, which falls on June 12, this year.
Members of the choir have been faithfully practicing every week since October for this performance.
“I congratulate the entire cast who make up this choir,” says John Kostoff, Director of Education. “They are talented and accomplished performers who do our board proud by lending their time, talent and enthusiasm to this project.”
The event is open to the community and is free of charge. A $5 donation to ShareLife is suggested.
