2010-11 Director's Annual Report (PDF)

The Catholic Nature of Our Schools
A
report on the Catholic nature of our schools by director of education, John B. Kostoff. This report should be considered as a "dashboard" observation, or a gauge to reflect the state and health of Catholicity in our board.

Ministry of Education Operational Review

The Ministry of Education began operational reviews of school boards across the province in 2007.  The purpose of these reviews was to provide opportunities for the ministry and school boards to work together to strengthen business practices and management capacity. Dufferin-Peel’s review was undertaken starting in December 2009 and concluded with a report by the Ministry in February 2010. The Ministry Report and staff report to March 23 board meeting are provided for information.

The attached Operational Review Report contains the ministry findings and recommendations that resulted from its review of board operations in December 2009.  Overall, this report places the board in a very positive light. It is a good news report that recognizes the exceptional leading practices that are followed by board staff in supporting our schools.

Mouse - an award-winning short anti-gang film produced by the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board in association with Peel Regional Police

Mouse is a powerful short film about a 10 year old boy who is lured into a street gang.  The film was produced by the board and its Catholic schools in the Malton community in association with Peel Regional Police in an effort to educate young people, parents and the community about the dangers of gang involvement.  The production was partially funded through an anti-bullying grant from the Ontario Ministry of Education. The film features the talents of students, educators, and police based in Mississauga’s Malton community.
