The three core priorities identified by the Ministry of Education and articulated in Reach Every Student - Energizing Ontario Education are:
1. high levels of student achievement,
2. reduced gaps in student achievement and
3. increased public confidence in publicly funded education.

Guided by the principles within Education for All and draft Learning for All K-12, we recognize that each student is unique and, supporting one student at a time, programs, plans and services are personalized and precise, guided by professional development and networking through a cycle of continuous assessment for learning and growth academically, socially and emotionally.
As part of a system review, the Director of Education and Trustees have developed a
Strategic System Plan 2010-15 .

Aligned to the Strategic System Plan, Instructional and Corporate Services prepared the annual Board Improvement Plan entitled the Catholic Board Learning Plan 2010-2013.
The Catholic Board Learning Plan articulates Dufferin-Peel's commitment in support of the Ministry of Education goals and the Board's Strategic System Plan to improved student learning, achievement and overall well being for all learners Kindergarten through Grade 12 through the seven pillars.

The needs of all students are addressed and articulated in this inclusive system planning process.
School boards are required to continue to provide a report to the community regarding the special education programs and services available to meet the needs of students in the board. In preparing or amending the report, school boards are to continue to consult with their respective Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC).
