Special Education Report

Special education programs and services are provided by a wide variety of professional and support staff which may include the following:

• Elementary Panel: Classroom Teacher, Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT), Special Education Resource Class Teacher (SERC), Special Education Class Teacher, Designated Early Childhood Educator

• Secondary Panel: Classroom Teacher, Academic Resource Department Head (ARDH), Academic Resource Teacher, Planning for Independence (PIP) Teacher, Needs Moderate Communications Teacher, ASD Diploma Support Resource Teacher, Career Path Program Teacher

• Combined Elementary and Secondary Panels: Administrator, Coordinator, Consultant, Itinerant Teachers (Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Blind and Low Vision, ASD, Physical and Medical Needs, Transition, Behaviour, Assistive Technology), Educational Resource Worker (ERW), Deafblind Intervenor, Child and Youth Worker (CYW)

• Other Professional Staff: Psychology staff, Consulting Psychiatrist, Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), Social Worker (SW), Audiologist

• Paraprofessional Resource Staff (may be contracted services): Orientation and Mobility Personnel, Oral Interpreter, American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter, Transcriber.
