GET READY

The “Get Ready!” Program is designed to facilitate the transition for students from Grade 8 into high school by providing them with an opportunity to review key concepts in literacy and numeracy, as well as introduce effective learning strategies and organizational skills. The program also consists of orientation to the secondary school including an overview of secondary programs, schedules, school layout and practices.

Thank you to the 200 students who registered for the program.  Only those students who registered in May have been accepted.  Parents/Guardians will receive a letter confirming the registration of their son/daughter by June 30, 2011.

The program will run from 8:12 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, August 23rd until Friday, August 26th, 2011 at St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School.  Students will need to wear comfortable clothing and they will also need to bring a calculator and pen and a pencil.  Students will also need to bring their own lunch every day and parents must provide transportation.  The daily schedule is:
