Guardian Angels Feast Day - October 2

A guardian angel is assigned by God to protect and guide a particular person. They also present prayers to God on that person's behalf. The belief in guardian angels can be traced throughout antiquity in both eastern and western traditions.

The Catholic church's calendar of saints includes a memorial to guardian angels on October 2.

The traditional prayer for guardian angels has been adopted by our school as our school prayer.

Angel of God, my guardian dear

to whom God's love commits me here.

Ever this day/night be at my side

to light, to guard, to rule and guide.

Amen
