Library Policies

 

General Policies

 

J  The FMG Resource Centre is intended for personal reading and/or quiet study.

      Students who wish to socialize are advised to use the cafeteria for this purpose.

J     Students must be in full uniform in the Resource Centre.

J     Students must show the current Student ID Card (or the school schedule)
for signing out materials and computers.

J      Food and drinks are not allowed in the Resource Centre.

  J  Personal electronic devices, including cell phones and iPods are not allowed in the

          Resource Centre.  They will be confiscated and held until the end of the day and

          may be released to a parent only.

      ¨       Students are allowed to sign out FIVE items at on time, with no more than TWO 

            items from any of the above category.

     ¨       Loan items may be renewed twice.

¨       Overdue notices will be sent out to homerooms for distribution to students every Monday.

¨       Students with unpaid fines will not be allowed to sign out any library materials or computers.

¨       Students are responsible for any lost items, and will be charged for the current replacement cost.

 

Computers & the Internet

 

:       Students are required to sign in at Circulation Desk before using computers.

 

:       Students are required to use the assigned computers only.

 

:       The computer and the Internet are used only for school-related activities.

 

:       No personal e-mail, or electronic social media is allowed.

 

:       Uploading/downloading files, instant messaging, chatting, posting blogs, or gaming on the Internet will lead to suspension of computer privileges.

 

:       Students are not allowed to connect personal laptops to the school network.

 

: Students must not alter electronic communication system software or hardware configurations, such as changing the Internet browser. 

 

: Students are not allowed to share personal accounts and passwords.

 

Service Charges

 

Ê 10 cents per page for printing text. Black and whilte only.

Ê 20 cents per page for printing graph, pictures, or charts. Black and white only.

Ê 10 cents per page for photocopying. 20 cents for photocopying on double-sided copy.
