Admission Criteria:
· Diagnosis of Autism/Asperger Syndrome.
Application Process:
· School with support from the PDD Boardwide TEAM and the Special Education consultant for the family of schools makes an application.
· Application sent to the Principal of Special Education
· Committee reviews applications and selects appropriate candidates.
· IPRC is requested.
· Committee makes final decision in placement of student in the program.
Student’s Course of Study and Support:
· Student attends regular classes.
· 3 courses per semester; 1 extra year to complete diploma requirements.
· ERW support as required.
· Students receive support with organization and assignment completion during study period.
· Use of assistive technology is an integral component of the program.
Emphasis is placed on transitioning students between grades and preparing them for post secondary options.
· CYW support for social skill development. |
