Communications Technology
COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY, Grade 10, Open TGJ2O1
This course requires students to complete a range of communications technology projects. These may include creating printed stationery, short videos, computer-generated animations, and graphical information displays. Students will learn to transfer information using electronic, live, and graphic communications methods. The knowledge and skills they will develop will provide a basis for careers in areas such as publishing, advertising, print production, animation, photography, and journalism.

Television G-Force Studies, Grade 11 University/College Prep – TGJ3M2
This course will utilize Gonzaga’s television studio as well as the Mac lab to produce a series of live and live to tape productions. The course will specialize in Electronic News Gathering as well as pre and postproduction. The emphasis of this program will be communication within the school community and a live weekly television presentation of all the schools sports and activities. Students will also deliver the morning announcements live each and every day. If you are looking for a dynamic course to build your portfolio, build confidence, and gain transferable skills, the G-Force class is for you. This is an university/college combined course and which does not require a prerequisite.

This course examines communications systems and design and production processes in one or more of the areas of electronic, live, and graphic communications. Students will develop knowledge and skills relating to the assembly, maintenance, and repair of the basic and more complex components of a range of communications systems. Students will also study industry standards and regulations and health and safety issues, and will explore careers, the importance of lifelong learning, and the impact of communications technology on society and the environment.

This course examines communications systems and design and production processes in one or more of the areas of electronic, live, and graphic communications. Students will independently create, manage, and distribute complex graphic, electronic, or audiovisual projects. Students will also study industry standards and regulations and health and safety issues, and will explore careers, the importance of lifelong learning, and the impact of communications technology on society and the environment.
Prerequisite: Grade 11 Communications Technology, University/College.
