uOttawa Day!

The University of Ottawa Liaison Office is once again hosting uOttawa Day on Friday, October 28, 2011. This event features open-house activities for students, including presentations on admission, financial aid and academic programs. The day’s schedule and related information can be found on the event website.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could share the above information with parents via your monthly newsletter; of course, you can also send it out to your students directly.

York Lions in Training (Y-Lit) Program:
York University is once again holding its Y-LIT Program. The Y-LIT Program is a mentorship program that connects individual high school students with the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a university student. High School students will accompnay York student mentors to their lectures and other classes, as well as a personalized campus tour.
If you are interested please complete a registration form and review the brochure attached.

- Use the Program Chart to find an alphabetical listing of all university programs in Ontario
- Select the program under each school to learn more about the university program's:
- admission average
- pre-requisities
- program size
- University programs require a minimum of 6 grade 12 University (U level) and/or University/College (M level) courses - including the program pre-requisties
- Pre-requisities and admission averages vary between Universities and Progrmas - Research!!!

Information for students interested in applying to a College:

- An updated college program finder allows students to search based upon colleges, programs, and areas of interest.
- Students should visit individual college web-sites and/or review college calendars to ensure they are meeting the admission requirements for certificate/diploma/degree programs at the college level
- All colleges require a high school applicant to be eligible to obtain his/her OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) by September 2010

- Applicants require an employer to sponsor them
