English as a Second Language
At St. Aloysius Gonzaga S.S., any ESL student, who has been in Canada for five years or less, wanting to enrol in a Grade 10 to 12 English course, must achieve or be assessed at an ELL level DO before they are eligible to take any Grades 10 to 12 English course. Students who are coming to St. Aloysius Gonzaga from a feeder school where they received ESL support in grades 7 through 8 are also required to achieve an ELL level DO English before they are eligible to take any Grades 10 to 12 English course.
