Winners of the University of Wilfrid Laurier Stock Market Competition

Students in the Grade 11 Economics Class, The Individual and the Economy, participated in the University of Wilfrid Laurier Stock Market Competition from February 2009 to May 2009.  This nationwide competition involves thousands of students engaged in a simulation whereby they buy and sell securities listed on the Canadian Stock Exchanges.  Two Holy Name of Mary C. S. S. students won 1st and 3rd place in the Ontario-GTA Region.  First Place Winner – Iris H., won a trophy, $250 cheque and a certificate; and Third Place Winner - Rachel L., won $50 cheque and a certificate.  Congratulations to these students!
