English Awards

 

 

For over 20 years, the  Holy Name of Mary English Department has recognized students with three different kinds of academic awards.  These awards recognize students for Top Mark in a Course, Creative Writing, and English Achievement.

The Creative Writing Award acknowledges students who have shown originality and excellence in their written work.

 

The English Achievement Award recognizes students who have demonstrated one or more of a variety of outstanding accomplishments:

  • outstanding academic performance as represented by high academic standing on assignments, tests, and exams;
  • outstanding progress or improvement in academic performance;
  • outstanding participation that inspires in others an enthusiasm for the study of English; or
  • some other outstanding academic achievement such as the completion of an exceptional major essay or other major assignment.

 

These three categories of awards are presented at the annual fall Awards Ceremony.  The English Department at HNM wants to celebrate and congratulate all winners of these awards.
