HNM offers the Spanish program to students in Grades 10-12.  Students who pursue Spanish from Grade 10-12 will receive a Spanish Certificate upon graduation, acknowledging their proficiency and commitment to the language.   
 
LWSBD: Spanish, Grade 10, Academic
Prerequisite: None
This course proivdes students with new language learning experiences that will enable them to communicate in the language of study. Students will apply their speaking skills and pursue activities to improve their reading comprehension and writing skills. Through technology-based activities and community-sponsored events, students will continue to explore a range of cultural aspects of the language.
 
LWSCU: Spanish, Grade 11, University
Prerequisite: Level 2 International Languages, Academic
This course offers students opportunities to further develop their knowledge of the international language and to enhance their communication skills. Students will use increasingly sophisticated language in a variety of activites that will enable them to speak and write with clarity and accuracy. Students will also enhance their thinking skills through the critical study of literature, and continue to explore aspects of the culture of countries where the language is spoken through a variety of print and technological resources.
 
LWSDU: Spanish, Grade 12, University
Prerequisite: Level 3 International Languages, University, Level 4 or demonstrated proficiency
This course prepares students for university studies in the international language. Students will enhance their ability to use the language with clarity and precision, and will develop the language skills needed to engage in sustained conversations and discussions, understand and evaluate information, read diverse materials for both study and pleasure, and write clearly and effectively. Students will also have opportunities to add to their knowledge of the culture of countries where the language is spoken through the use of community resources and computer technology.
