Peer Mediators 2011 - 2012

You'll recognize our Peer Mediators right away by the clipboards they carry and their orange safety vest...AND their winning smiles!
The Peer Mediators this year are enthusiastic group of volunteers from Grades 6 and 7. They'll be out and about every lunch hour in the Primary Yard to help out. It's great to have them on board and contributing to their school community in such a positive way!
Our Peer Mediators have some basic training in conflict resolution. They know the difference between conflict and bullying. Sometimes these two things are confused. For more information on what bullying is and isn't just click here to be redirected to the Peel Health website on bullying.
Here's what we believe is a good Peer Mediator here at Holy Family School:
A Peer Mediator is Someone Who...
Likes to help friends solve problems
Is a good listener
Has the patience to listen to people
Keeps information confidential
Gets along well with others
Cares about peoples feelings
Helps calm angry kids
Can listen without taking sides
