Get Ready NUMERACY & LITERACY CAMP

The Numeracy and Literacy Camp returns for its fifteenth year at Iona Catholic Secondary School this summer!

The camp is for incoming Grade 9 students to Iona who would like to review some grade 8 numeracy and literacy skills.

The Mathematics program involves a thorough review of various numeracy skills in Mathematics.  The English program allows for students to practice their current literacy skills (namely reading comprehension and writing ability) to ensure success in their first year of secondary classes.

Last years camp was attended by approximately 120 students.  The feedback from parents and students was extremely positive.  Students found the program to be a good orientation to Iona and had the opportunity to meet incoming grade 9 students from other feeder schools.  This year we are looking forward to another great camp.

The Numeracy and Literacy camp will take place from Monday August 21, 2017 to Wednesday August 30, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

To enroll your son/daughter, please complete the registration form attached to this letter and return to the main office. Please ensure that you indicate on the registration form the level of mathematics your son/daughter is enrolled in September.

If you have any questions concerning the program, please feel free to contact one of the teachers listed below at (905) 823-0136.
