First Day of School

Just a reminder that Tuesday, September 2, 2014 is the first day of school. School start time is 9:00am. All students will begin on this day, including our kindergarten students. The YMCA program will also begin on Tuesday, drop off beginning at 7:30am and pick up until 6:00pm. If you are not part of the before/after school care, please ensure that you drop off your child/children between 8:45am and 9:00am (8:45am is when outdoor supervision begins).

 Kiss and Ride

We ask that all parents enter the Kiss and Ride through the east entrance, travel through the drop off circle, drop of their child/children while in the circle and then proceed to exit using the west exit.

Opening Day Procedures

Welcome to the start of the 2014-2015 school year here at St. James Catholic Global Learning Centre.

On Tuesday September 2, Kindergarten students will gather in the Kindergarten yard (in front of school). If your kindergarten student is being dropped off in the kiss and ride, please have your son/daughter exit the car and a staff member will escort them to the kindergarten yard.  All other students will assemble in the schoolyard.

Teachers will gather students at the rear doors following the opening bell at 9:00 a.m. From here all will proceed to their individual classrooms where attendance will be taken.

Pick Up

If you are picking up you son/daughter after school using the kiss and ride, please note that all students being picked up via the kiss and ride will be lined up outside according to their grade. As you drive around the kiss and ride and are identified by your son/daughter, we will then release them to you. To ensure that the kiss and ride flows appropriately, please remain in your vehicle. If you would like to exit your vehicle, please park in any available spot or on an adjacent side street. I thank you in advance as your co-operation is paramount in making our drop off/pick up safe and convenient for all.

We as a staff look forward to working with you and your children this year. It should prove to be an exciting year for us all.
