St. James School History

St. James School is an elementary school that first opened in 1960.  Our school is located in a residential part of the community. It is deeply rooted within the Port Credit village.

Additional classrooms, a gym, a stage and a library were added to the existing structure in 1994.  The library is currently equipped with a computer lab.  The well maintained landscaping at the front of the school includes a Peace Garden that was created in the spring of 2001.  Most of the surrounding community consists of apartments and single-family dwelling homes.

The present student population is comprised of students from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.

St. James School is committed to Catholic education along with the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board.
