Chess Club

This year the Blessed John XXIII Chess Club achieved record numbers of attendees! Over 40 students from both the intermediate and junior divisions showed interest in joining this year's Chess Club. The Chess Club ran for roughly 3 months, where the students learned and used their strategy skills. The top 5 students along with the "taxi squad" represented our school at the Annual Mississauga South Chess Tournament. Both our intermediate and junior teams showed tremendous skill and effort throughout the course of the tournament. The junior team finished a respectable 9th place out of 19 schools, whereas the intermediate team finished a fantastic 5th out of 19 schools! Congratulations to Miguel, Joshua, Vimal, Mitchell, Robin, Brandon, Romeo, Jamie, Samantha, Ethan, Ryan, Katrina, Marqus and the rest of the chess club members for a wonderful season.
