                              Public Speaking – 2011

The 2011 edition of the Blessed John XXIII Public Speaking Competition proved to be one of the best in recent memory. In the Junior (Grades 5 & 6) and the Intermediate (Grades 7 & 8) divisions, six students presented their speeches in front of the school, competing for the Public Speaking Championship Trophy. Here is a list of this year’s competitors:

Junior Division:

Jamie
Maya
Amanda
Cassidy
Samantha
Matthew

Intermediate Division:

Kacie
Jessica C.
Ashley
Alex
Jessica V.
Miguel

When the scores were tabulated and the results were announced, Mia from Grade 5 emerged as the Junior Champion (with a wonderful speech on Global Warming) and Miguel from Grade 8 emerged victorious as the Intermediate Champion (with a well-researched speech on Water Conservation). A special thank you to our panel of judges here at the school [Mrs. Gremmen, Mme. Marangoni, Mr. Glicner & Mr. Zubac]. They truly had a difficult job on their hands determining the winners.
