The Arts at Blessed John XXIII

A strong art-based extracurricular program is thriving at Blessed John XXIII School through the following spectrum of activities:

Junior Craft Club:

Instructors: R. Valeri-Lutz and N. Dalli

This creative club invites students to explore the beautiful gifts and seasonal decorations they can create with their very own hands and minds.  Tinsel trees, glittery snow globes, spoon reindeer, candy sleighs, and straw hat snowmen are just some of the crafty creations that our members uniquely assemble in a workshop that could easily compete with Santa's!  Family members truly enjoy the wonderful crafts made with love and pride by members of the Craft Club.

Intermediate Christmas Craft Club:

Instructors: C. Ribeiro and M. Zucchet

The Blessed John XXIII intermediate students spent several after school sessions in November and December demonstrating their artistic talents through the creation of a variety of lovely Christmas crafts to share with family and friends. The crafts made included creating a moose ornament and several other tree ornaments, making a beautiful Christmas angel ornament, decorating gingerbread men cookies, making a Christmas placemat with 4 coasters, making yummy peppermint white chocolate bark and dipping candy canes in white chocolate and then decorating them with sprinkles.

Thank you to the following members for their enthusiasm and Christmas spirit: Bianca, Devina, Juliana, Danica, Zach., Marissa, Nicholas, Jamie, Luca, Steven, Hailey, Sonia, Samantha, Monique, Leanne, Lillian, Katrina, and Ryan.

Clay, Sculpture and Ceramics Club:

Instructors: R. Valeri-Lutz and N. Dalli

This hands-on club invites students to create 3-D works of art with various mediums including clay, metal, wood and other found objects.  Members also explore the ceramics strand with a specific focus on glazing techniques.  Beautiful themes which emphasize the Catholic curriculum have been embraced by the club including our "Family of Hope" community motto.  Colourful sculpted butterflies and heavenly angels will greet you in our front foyer as an on-going symbol of our belief in the virtue of HOPE!
