Curling 2009-2010

With the winter Olympics just behind us and Canada’s great success, curling has become a popular past time for all ages as well as a competitive sport. In the region of Peel, St. Joan of Arc has made a name for itself in a very short time. This year, Mr. Daley and Mrs. Comeau-Young had 20 athletes and 3 teams participating. The senior boy’s team had an enjoyable season and most of the players will be graduating this year. The senior mixed team were very successful throughout the season, but were eliminated during the playoffs. The junior mixed team which consisted of all new players surpassed our expectations by capturing the gold medal in the ROPSAA championships. We are very proud of the commitment and efforts of all the players and look forward to another great season next year. New players are always welcome and try outs will take place in the fall of 2010. See Ms. Comeau-Young in Student Services if you have any questions about getting started in the curling program.
